When a company changes its name, address, directors or shareholding, the foreign employees' records need to be updated too. This is a notification rather than a new application, but the deadlines are real.
What is included
- Review of what has changed at the company level
- Preparation of the notification pack
- Filing with the Department of Employment and follow-up
- Check that the Work Permit book and the visa record still match the company record
Documents usually required
- Updated company affidavit and registration certificate
- Evidence of the change, such as the DBD filing receipt
- Existing Work Permits for the affected foreign employees
- Passports and current visas
- Photographs if a new permit is issued
How the process runs
- We identify which changes require notification and which require a new application
- The company prepares the updated corporate documents
- We file the notification and follow up
- We check that the employee records are consistent afterwards
Timing
Usually one to two weeks after the corporate change is registered. Acting before the change is finalised is the smoothest route.
Worth knowing
A company can be fully compliant and still leave its foreign staff non-compliant, simply because nobody updated the employee records. If your company has just changed anything, let us check the permits.
